Data Architect (DV Cleared)

What you will do

• Define architecture and provide technical leadership for public-facing, government and private-sector projects.
• Develop data strategies, migration and integration approaches, data models and data designs for client environments.
• Investigate live applications and systems, document scope and constraints, and establish architecture standards and deployment guidelines.
• Design enterprise data models and technical solutions for distributed systems, microservices and big-data storage.
• Govern and support technical delivery while ensuring agreed architectural principles and standards are applied.
• Line manage, mentor, train and develop engineers and architects.

Requirements

• Active DV clearance is required for eligibility.
• Strong architecture and software engineering background, including experience leading teams of engineers or architects.
• Experience defining data strategy, data migration and data integration approaches.
• Hands-on data architecture experience when needed, with Java, Scala and Python.
• Experience with Big Data technologies, Microsoft Azure and its services, and both open-source and vendor data platforms.
• Experience with data architecture concepts, methodologies, approaches, microservices architecture, data modelling, and structured and unstructured data.
• Understanding of non-functional design drivers and a strong Java and REST Services background, including designing solutions and reviewing code.
• Ability to explain complex technical solutions to non-technical audiences, write clear guidance and deliver impactful presentations.
• Critical thinking, analysis and evaluation skills, broad familiarity with technologies, and the ability to combine them to solve customer problems.
• Ability to manage internal and external stakeholders and collaborate with clients and partners. Consultancy experience is beneficial, while equivalent external-partner experience in other settings is considered.
