TL;DR
Senior Release Manager (Robotics): Own end-to-end releases for a commercially deployed humanoid robot platform across software, firmware, hardware, cloud services, and field operations with an accent on release automation, OTA fleet deployments, validation, and observability. Focus on designing repeatable release pipelines, coordinating go/no-go decisions, instrumenting delivery and fleet health, and building rollback and incident-response capabilities for customer environments.

Location: Fully remote within the United States, with an option to work hybrid from a commutable distance to offices in Salem, Oregon; Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; or Fremont, California. Applicants must have current authorization to work in the United States.

Anticipated base salary range: $128,000–$199,000 USD annually.

Company

hirify.global develops commercially deployed humanoid robots for warehouses, manufacturing facilities, and distribution centers.

What you will do

  • Own release planning and execution for robot software, firmware, cloud services, and hardware variants, including major, minor, patch, and hotfix releases.
  • Define release criteria, run readiness reviews, coordinate QA and V&V results, and lead go/no-go decisions and blameless post-release reviews.
  • Establish configuration management, versioning, branching, traceability, release policies, and standardized release-train processes.
  • Coordinate system integration, validation, field readiness, customer-site deployments, defect resolution, and regression response across engineering and operations teams.
  • Plan staged OTA rollouts, rollback mechanisms, contingency plans, incident playbooks, and customer acceptance activities.
  • Instrument CI/CD, signing, artifact, OTA, telemetry, logging, and tracing pipelines; build dashboards and track release and fleet-health metrics.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of release management experience for complex integrated systems involving hardware, firmware, and software.
  • Release experience in robotics, autonomous systems, automotive, aerospace, or a similar hardware-software domain.
  • Experience coordinating cross-functional teams through complex product development and deployment cycles in fast-paced, high-growth environments.
  • Hands-on experience building release automation, CI/CD pipelines, and deployment orchestration with tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, or Buildkite.
  • Strong understanding of SDLC, configuration management, version control, Git, issue tracking, severity-based triage, and release criteria.
  • Experience with observability tools such as Prometheus/Grafana, OpenTelemetry, Foxglove, Datadog, or Sentry.
  • Proficiency in Python and Bash/Shell for automation and data analysis.
  • Experience with OTA updates, versioning, canary and ring-based rollouts, rollback design, fleet-state tracking, and release dependencies across software, firmware, and hardware variants.
  • Ability to define release-health metrics and SLIs/SLOs for deployed devices, communicate technically with engineering and business stakeholders, influence without authority, and make data-driven decisions.

Nice to have

  • Experience in robotics, autonomous vehicles, or advanced manufacturing automation.
  • Familiarity with ROS 2 build and packaging tooling.
  • Experience implementing release trains, automated release-note generation, artifact management, artifact signing, secure update chains, Docker, or fleet issue triage and root-cause analysis.

Culture & Benefits

  • Full-time employment with a 401(k) plan including a 6% company match, equity, and company-paid medical, dental, vision, and disability insurance.
  • Benefits begin on the first day; support includes an employee assistance program, parental leave, professional development, and tuition reimbursement.
  • Exempt employees receive flexible unlimited PTO and 12 company holidays including a winter shutdown; non-exempt employees receive vacation, paid sick leave, and 12 company holidays.
  • Flexible work arrangements, with catered lunches and refreshments available at Salem and Pittsburgh offices.
  • Relocation assistance and annual discretionary bonuses are available for eligible roles.

Hiring process

  • Apply directly through the company careers page; unsolicited third-party recruiting agency referrals are not accepted, and represented applications may not be considered.
