Senior Counsel, Employment (AI Cloud Infrastructure)

Location: Livingston, New Jersey, United States

Base salary: $157,000–$210,000 per year, plus discretionary bonus, equity awards, and benefits.

What you will do

• Advise on the full employment lifecycle for the U.S. workforce, including hiring, agreements, performance management, investigations, leave, accommodations, terminations, compensation, benefits, classification, restrictive covenants, and mobility.
• Manage employment disputes and pre-litigation matters from assessment through resolution, including investigations, preservation, discovery, settlement, trial preparation, and reporting.
• Draft and improve employment policies, agreements, workforce documentation, workflows, templates, playbooks, SOPs, and training.
• Monitor employment-law developments and provide practical, business-focused recommendations on legal risk and operational objectives.
• Partner with People, Legal, Payroll, Accounting, Tax, Corporate Development, Insider Risk, and regional employment counsel.
• Support M&A and strategic transactions, outside-counsel management, cross-border programs, and selected broader company disputes.

Requirements

• 6+ years of relevant employment-law and litigation experience.
• Experience advising a multi-state U.S. workforce and applying employment law across U.S. jurisdictions.
• Experience managing employment disputes and litigation, including agency matters, investigations, discovery and preservation, settlement strategy, and outside counsel.
• Experience in law-firm and in-house roles, or equivalent legal training and practical business judgment; meaningful in-house experience is strongly preferred.
• Ability to independently own complex employment matters, assess risk, communicate with varied stakeholders, and determine when consultation or escalation is needed.
• Strong drafting, legal interpretation, research, written and verbal communication, problem-solving, and business judgment skills.
• Experience managing and evaluating outside counsel, including employment litigators and state/local specialists.
• J.D. degree and active membership in good standing in at least one U.S. state bar.
• Experience supporting employment aspects of M&A, organizational changes, or strategic transactions and building scalable policies, processes, or playbooks.
• Access to export-controlled information requires U.S.-person status, eligibility without export authorization, or eligibility and reasonable likelihood of obtaining authorization.
