Science Media Producer (Mineral Exploration)

Location: Remote-first; candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States, Canada, or the UK. The role includes travel to Mingomba in Zambia or exploration sites worldwide, typically no more than five trips per year.

US base salary: USD$100k–150k annually, plus equity and benefits including 401k matching.

What you will do

• Manage the creation of scientific and technical content in video, written, and graphic formats for investors, government officials, the public, and internal audiences.
• Identify story opportunities with company leaders and interview scientists and geologists to develop clear narrative arcs.
• Oversee video production from pre-production through post-production, including sourcing and managing vendors worldwide.
• Create or initiate technical figures and graphics with support from the graphic design team.
• Write, edit, and provide feedback on reports, case studies, social media content, and presentation scripts.
• Advise staff on scientific presentations and travel to events and worksites to direct field shoots and generate content about exploration and operations.

Requirements

• Ability to understand technical information and turn it into compelling stories for non-expert audiences.
• Strong writing, storytelling, communication, design judgment, and editorial skills across multiple formats, including social media.
• At least 5 years of experience in scientific or technical multimedia creation for a public-facing brand or organization, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
• Intellectual curiosity and willingness to learn mineral exploration, particularly geology, and work directly with geologists in the field.
• Comfort working in a fast-growing early-stage company with a dynamic environment and evolving responsibilities.
• Ability to connect content projects with business objectives, not only execute assigned work.
• Valid passport and willingness to travel to Mingomba in Zambia or exploration sites worldwide; travel typically does not exceed five trips per year.

Nice to have

• Proficiency with industry-standard graphic design, video editing, or video production tools such as Premiere Pro, After Effects, Descript, Illustrator, and Figma.
• Experience sourcing, hiring, and managing video vendors, including filming, voiceover, editing, and animation.
• Hands-on video editing and animation experience.
