Senior Full Stack Engineer (AI)

Location: Fully remote within the United States; candidates in Hawaii and Alaska are excluded. Eastern or Central time zones preferred.

Annual base salary: $180,000–$200,000 USD.

What you will do

• Build production agent workflows combining models, retrieval, tools, human approval, multi-agent handoffs, long-running tasks, and persistent state.
• Improve document and business-data ingestion and retrieval, and develop automated offline and online evaluations for answer quality.
• Protect customer data through tenant isolation, permissions, prompt-injection defenses, personal-data handling, and audit trails.
• Build reusable UI components, SDKs, MCP integrations, and accessible interfaces with streaming responses, agent status, and human approval steps.
• Measure and optimize agent cost, latency, quality, and end-to-end observability while supporting on-call for owned services.
• Lead technical design, write design documentation, collaborate with product teams, review code, and mentor engineers.

Requirements

• 6+ years of building and shipping production software, including recent senior-level experience.
• Strong Python backend experience, ideally with FastAPI, Pydantic, and asynchronous services.
• Solid TypeScript and React experience, including reusable components or SDKs used by other teams.
• Production experience with LLMs, including tool calling, retrieval-augmented generation, or agent workflows.
• Experience with retrieval and search, such as vector databases, hybrid search, chunking, or reranking.
• Working knowledge of PostgreSQL and data modeling, including performance optimization and migrations.
• Experience with multi-tenant SaaS, data security, permissions, and personal-information handling.
• Experience running services on AWS with infrastructure as code, CI/CD, and monitoring tools such as Datadog.
• Experience measuring AI output quality, cost, and latency; leading technical design; writing design documents; and mentoring engineers. Daily use of AI coding tools with sound judgment about human review is expected.

Nice to have

• Multi-agent systems, long-running background jobs, or human-in-the-loop approval flows.
• MCP, LiteLLM, or Amazon Bedrock experience.
• Automated offline and online evaluations for LLM or RAG systems.
• Prompt-injection defenses or AI security experience.
• Streaming user interfaces using server-sent events or accessible, trustworthy AI interfaces.
• Experience in regulated environments such as SOC 2 or PCI DSS.
