Controller

Location: Remote (U.S.)

Annual base compensation: $165,000–$190,000, with possible additional bonus or incentive opportunities.

What you will do

• Oversee daily accounting operations and prepare accurate, timely financial statements in compliance with GAAP.
• Own the monthly close process, including account reconciliations and supporting schedules.
• Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, government reporting requirements, and tax filings.
• Maintain and strengthen internal accounting controls to mitigate risk and improve reporting accuracy.
• Lead the successful execution of the external audit.
• Mentor and support a team of seven while fostering continuous improvement.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
• CPA or similar certification required.
• Proven experience as a Controller.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and financial processes, including monthly close and financial reporting.
• Proficiency with accounting software and ERP systems.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Experience using AI to drive efficiencies.

Nice to have

• Experience at a major accounting firm such as Big Four, Grant Thornton, or BDO.
• Experience with an exit transaction and acquisition integration.
• Experience with Intacct.
