IT Security Subject Matter Expert (Cybersecurity)

What you will do

• Define security controls for new and existing IT solutions across on-premises, cloud, and SaaS environments.
• Advise technical teams on interpreting and implementing security policies, requirements, and controls.
• Translate high-level security requirements into concrete technical expectations and evaluate implementation.
• Strengthen IT infrastructure security and ensure requirements are covered by policies and standards.
• Contribute to, test, and monitor the Security Controls Framework, including controls deviation management.
• Conduct specialized security assessments, manage findings, and support security compliance advisory and consultancy services.

Requirements

• Approximately 10 years of experience in security management, preferably at enterprise level.
• Strong technical understanding and deep knowledge of current security technologies and developments.
• Hands-on IT infrastructure experience, particularly in networking or cloud environments, is a strong advantage.
• In-depth working knowledge of IT risk and security frameworks and best practices, including NIST Cybersecurity Framework, ISF Standard of Good Practice for Information Security, NIST SP 800-30, and ISO 27001/2.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build trusting, long-term stakeholder relationships as a subject matter expert.
• Ability to collaborate while working autonomously, manage several projects simultaneously, and maintain an overview of the wider picture.
• Passion for continuous learning, improvement, industry best practices, and current trends.
• A Certificate of Good Conduct, “Verklaring Omtrent het Gedrag (VOG),” is required.

Nice to have

• Valid industry certifications such as CISSP, CISM, and/or CCSP.
• IT audit experience.
