Sr. Electrical & Controls Engineer (Process Controls)

hirify.global is hiring for engineering work supporting municipal water and wastewater clients and Northern California utilities.

What you will do

• Lead electrical, instrumentation, controls, PLC, SCADA, and industrial networking projects for water and wastewater facilities.
• Develop and optimize control strategies for filtration, chemical dosing, disinfection, pumping, PFAS treatment, and plant-wide automation.
• Perform field investigations, system assessments, control narratives, P&ID reviews, functional design specifications, and commissioning.
• Support SCADA modernization, PLC migrations, instrumentation upgrades, and integration of plant process data into dashboards and reporting systems.
• Coordinate with operators, maintenance personnel, and multidisciplinary engineering teams to deliver reliable control solutions.
• Provide technical leadership, client management, mentoring, and quality assurance throughout project delivery.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in industrial control systems and electrical engineering.
• Solid Allen Bradley and Schneider experience in industrial automation and control systems.
• Strong background in water and wastewater treatment process controls, including PLCs, SCADA, HMI systems, instrumentation, MCCs, VFDs, and power distribution.
• Experience with design, startup, commissioning, troubleshooting, and optimization of treatment-plant automation systems.
• Demonstrated technical leadership and client-facing support for municipal infrastructure projects.
• B.S. in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
• California PE license or ability to obtain one.
