Senior Legal Counsel (AI)

What you will do

• Advise the organisation on global SaaS arrangements, including deployments and SLAs, across Europe, the UK, Australia, New Zealand, Asia, the Middle East, and the USA.
• Prepare, advise on, and negotiate SaaS enterprise, reseller, referral, distributor, and platform agreements using company and third-party templates.
• Advise on public government tenders for SaaS and SaMD products globally.
• Support the General Counsel on strategic, stakeholder, corporate, corporate governance, Cosec, and Audit and Risk Committee matters.
• Support potential corporate M&A activity and manage external legal advisers when needed.
• Develop and implement procedures, systems, policies, and frameworks for the company’s next stage of growth.

Requirements

• 10+ years post-qualification experience with relevant experience at an international top-tier law firm in corporate M&A and/or Commercial/TMT, and/or strong relevant in-house experience.
• Global experience, preferably in global startup or scale-up environments.
• Subject-matter expertise in SaaS and associated commercial contracting, with an AI and technology sector focus.
• Familiarity with public government tenders.
• Current legal practising certificate in NSW.
• Ability to take initiative and ownership of matters, work as a team player, and manage more junior members.
• Experience in fast-paced technology or AI industries and with contract management systems such as Lawvu or similar.
• Excellent commercial judgment, communication, and problem-solving skills, including the ability to advise fast-paced global commercial sales teams and assess issues holistically.
