TL;DR

Senior AI Engineer (LLMs/Machine Learning): Developing and productizing AI-driven solutions by turning machine learning and deep learning proof-of-concepts into scalable MVPs with an accent on LLMs, model optimization, and cross-functional delivery. Focus on evaluating PoCs, integrating AI capabilities into applications, and guiding junior AI engineers.

Location: Lisbon; 100% remote opportunities. Tech Visa support is available for candidates outside the European Union.

What you will do

Identify business needs and areas where AI can create value with cross-functional stakeholders.
Design, develop, evaluate, and iterate machine learning and deep learning proof-of-concepts.
Analyze PoC outcomes and translate the most valuable concepts into minimum viable products.
Optimize, fine-tune, test, and validate AI models and MVPs for reliability, scalability, usability, and computational efficiency.
Integrate AI capabilities into existing systems or develop new AI-driven applications with product and engineering teams.
Document results, communicate with stakeholders, and provide technical guidance to junior AI engineers.

Requirements

Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, data science, artificial intelligence, or a related field.
Proven experience as an AI Engineer, machine learning engineer, or in a similar role.
Strong understanding of LLMs, machine learning, deep learning techniques, algorithms, and frameworks including TensorFlow, PyTorch, Keras, and LangChain.
Proficiency in Python and Java, with experience using tools and libraries such as NumPy, pandas, and Matplotlib for data manipulation, analysis, and visualization.
Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud and their AI services.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
Excellent communication, teamwork, attention to detail, self-direction, and proactive learning ability.

Nice to have

Experience with big data processing and distributed computing frameworks such as Hadoop or Spark.
