TL;DR
Quantum Software Engineer (Photonic Quantum Computing): Developing a compilation stack that translates high-level quantum circuits into hardware-aware pulse schedules and building digital-twin tools for photonic quantum computers with an accent on quantum protocols, compiler architecture, and software–hardware integration. Focus on designing scalable quantum software architecture, simulating future QPUs, and coordinating work across theory, experimental hardware, and engineering teams.

Location: Hybrid in Massy, Île-de-France, France, with 3–4 days per week onsite in Massy, 1 day in Paris, or 1–2 days remotely.

Company

hirify.global develops photonic quantum computers, cloud-accessible full-stack quantum computing solutions, and quantum algorithm services for academic and industrial customers.

What you will do

  • Develop a compilation stack translating high-level quantum circuits into hardware-aware pulse schedules optimized for photonic quantum computers.
  • Drive the long-term architecture, technical roadmap, and alignment across organizations.
  • Contribute to a digital twin that simulates future QPU behavior from hardware instructions.
  • Work at the interface of quantum theory, experimental hardware, and software engineering teams.
  • Stay current with developments in quantum software and contribute to the future quantum software stack.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree or PhD in a quantum-related field.
  • 2/4+ years of relevant experience in quantum software, quantum hardware automation, or related topics.
  • Good understanding of photonic-based quantum computing.
  • Strong proficiency in Python.
  • Experience working at the interface of software, experimental hardware, and theory teams in industry or academia.
  • Collaborative mindset and ability to serve as a bridge between different teams.

Nice to have

  • Proficiency in at least one systems language: C++ or Rust.
  • Exposure to quantum computing frontends and related ecosystems, such as Cirq, Qiskit, OpenQASM, or CUDA-Q.
  • Hands-on experience with quantum photonic systems.
  • Familiarity with compilation mechanisms such as LLVM or compilation to microcode.

Culture & Benefits

  • Meaningful role with real ownership from day one and exposure to the entire quantum stack, from high-level APIs to low-level firmware.
  • Hybrid work model with regular onsite collaboration in Massy and Paris.
  • Profit-sharing and a company savings plan.
  • 100% health coverage through Alan, transport reimbursement or sustainable mobility bonus, meal vouchers, and Gymlib fitness support.
  • Childcare assistance and referral bonuses of €1,000–€2,000.
  • Respectful, inclusive, and welcoming work environment.

Hiring process
