Embedded Software Developer (IoT)

Location: Remote, based in Warsaw, Poland

Develop embedded software for IoT-powered smart beverage solutions within an international smart home and lifestyle product project.

What you will do

• Design embedded software components and hardware drivers for displays, cameras, sensors, and actuators.
• Develop beverage dispensing logic covering temperature control, pumps, valves, and safety mechanisms.
• Implement secure OTA firmware updates over HTTPS, bootloader support, and firmware validation.
• Develop embedded graphical interfaces for LCD touchscreens and maintain efficient C/C++ code.
• Debug firmware on real hardware, perform root-cause analysis, and conduct unit and integration testing.
• Document technical solutions, support QA validation, participate in planning and estimation, and collaborate with customers, architects, security specialists, and compliance engineers.

Requirements

• At least 4 years of commercial embedded software development experience using C/C++.
• Strong expertise with STM32 and ARM Cortex-M architectures; familiarity with NXP, TI, or Silicon Labs platforms.
• Hands-on experience with UART, I2C, SPI, and Wi-Fi communication interfaces.
• Solid understanding of MQTT, DNS, DHCP, mDNS, TCP/IP, and UDP networking protocols.
• Experience with FreeRTOS or Zephyr RTOS.
• Experience implementing secure boot, OTA updates, checksums, firmware validation, and bootloader support.
• Understanding of IoT and embedded-systems cybersecurity principles, with strong debugging and troubleshooting skills on real hardware.
• Upper-Intermediate or higher English level required.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking, independent and proactive work habits, communication and collaboration skills, attention to detail, and the ability to balance low-level hardware interaction with system-level thinking.

Nice to have

• Camera integration, image capture, processing, or streaming experience.
• Face recognition technologies or embedded vision SDKs experience.
• Embedded file systems such as FatFS or LittleFS.
• Networking stacks such as lwIP.
• Fluidics control systems experience, including pumps, flow sensors, or pressure sensors.
• Experience with FPGA- or ASIC-based systems.
