Head of Software Engineering (Embedded)

What you will do

• Own software delivery and technical strategy across multiple embedded software projects and product lines.
• Lead pre-sales activities, technical discovery sessions, client proposals, architecture evaluation, and engineering effort estimation.
• Establish coding guidelines, automated testing frameworks, and CI/CD practices for embedded Linux, RTOS, firmware, and edge AI development.
• Align Software Development Managers and Tech Leads, resolve technical and interpersonal conflicts, and maintain a unified engineering direction.
• Oversee resource allocation, capacity planning, recruitment coordination, and engineering organization growth.
• Act as the embedded software authority for clients, product managers, Hardware, Backend, Image Quality, Research, and QA stakeholders.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Head of Engineering, Director of Software, or Engineering Delivery Lead managing embedded software or firmware organizations using C/C++, Embedded Linux, and RTOS.
• Deep embedded systems architecture experience covering areas such as OS drivers, middleware, connectivity, video/audio streaming, or edge processing.
• Hands-on pre-sales experience including technical proposal writing, client pitches, and effort estimations for external projects.
• Solid knowledge of modern software delivery practices, Agile frameworks, and CI/CD for embedded systems.
• Ability to build trust, empower autonomous leads, resolve team friction, and balance technical quality with deadlines, budgets, and delivery commitments.
• Advanced or fluent English at C1/C2 level, with the ability to explain complex technical architectures to technical and non-technical client stakeholders.

Nice to have

• AI/ML integration at the edge, including on-device object detection, ISP tuning, or smart camera features.
• Experience in smart home, IoT, or camera security platforms.
• Understanding of the full hardware lifecycle, including integration with EE/RF and mass-production pipelines.
• Strong negotiation skills regarding delivery scope, boundaries, and timelines.
