Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer (GCP)

Location: Massy, France; the platform operates across regional environments in Europe and the Middle East.

hirify.global is a deep-tech company developing a quantum computing product that combines hardware and software, including a managed cloud platform for submitting jobs to quantum emulators and QPUs.

What you will do

• Design, improve, operate, and secure the public cloud architecture, mainly on GCP, including networking, IAM, multi-region and multi-tenant capabilities, resilience, and cost control.
• Define infrastructure governance rules, standards, versioned modules, review practices, guardrails, and golden paths, and support their adoption.
• Enable software engineering teams through deployment automation, environment provisioning, and production-readiness support.
• Strengthen monitoring, alerting, incident response, and durable remediation while participating in on-call rotations.
• Operate and secure GitLab infrastructure, including CI/CD, runners, permissions, secrets, supply-chain security, and instance hardening.
• Audit existing systems, propose improvement roadmaps, and sequence migrations, refactors, and hardening without disrupting production.

Requirements

• Proven experience designing public cloud platforms; GCP experience is preferred, while strong AWS expertise is accepted with willingness to learn GCP.
• Production experience with Kubernetes, Terraform, Ansible, Linux, and cloud networking.
• Hands-on GitOps and CI/CD experience, including progressive rollouts and GitLab administration; GitHub experience is also welcome.
• Solid knowledge of IAM, least privilege, secrets management, encryption, and vulnerability management.
• Ability to audit systems, prioritize improvements, deliver changes incrementally, and participate confidently in on-call rotations.
• Professional English is required for effective collaboration and documentation.
• Ability to explain architectural trade-offs, document decisions, runbooks, and standards, and work autonomously through ambiguity and legacy systems.
• Ability to collaborate across software, quantum research, and hardware teams, build consensus, and support others through reviews, pairing, and knowledge sharing without formal management responsibility.

Nice to have

• Experience with Istio, external-dns, Grafana/LGTM, or Cloud Armor.
• Experience with regulated or audited environments such as SOC2, ISO 27001, or NCA CCC/ECC.
• Experience with multi-region or sovereign-cloud deployments, HPC and SLURM scheduling, or data engineering architectures.
• Kubernetes certifications such as CKA or CKS.

• 1.5-hour technical interview with the Ops team involving an architecture case study, followed by a 45-minute VP Software Platform interview.
