Engineering Co-op (Mechanical Engineering)

Location: Oakville, Ontario, Canada; onsite

Compensation: $25–$29/hour, based on qualifications and experience.

What you will do

• Support packaging line and equipment development projects.
• Create and update line layouts, equipment layouts, assembly drawings, technical documentation, equipment specifications, and bills of materials.
• Assist with R&D, testing, product improvement, cost reduction, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Support machine assembly, production activities, equipment startup, troubleshooting, debugging, and validation.
• Collaborate with engineering, production, procurement, and assembly teams.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in a Mechanical Engineering or Mechatronics Engineering program and available for a full-time 12-month co-op term beginning January 2027.
• At least one previous co-op, internship, design team, or relevant hands-on engineering experience.
• Experience using AutoCAD for equipment layouts, production line layouts, mechanical drawings, and technical documentation.
• Exposure to SolidWorks or other 3D CAD software, equipment specifications, manufacturing drawings, BOMs, and engineering documentation through coursework, projects, or prior work experience.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to analyze problems, troubleshoot issues, and support equipment assembly, testing, and startup.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, proficiency with Microsoft Office, and the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented manufacturing environment.
