Electronic Hardware Developer II

Location: On-site in Vernon, BC, Canada, Monday–Friday; occasional travel of approximately 10% for training, conferences, and Watts opportunities.

Salary: CAD 78,000–82,000 yearly.

What you will do

• Capture schematics and create PCB layouts, component symbols, and footprints using Altium Designer or other PCB layout software.
• Build, solder, assemble, and wire sample hardware; test and troubleshoot circuits using electronic laboratory equipment.
• Modify existing electronic designs, research and develop new circuits, and document design changes and test results.
• Prepare samples and documentation for regulatory certification and create PCB and design documentation for manufacturing.
• Support manufacturing issue resolution and contribute to mechanical, packaging, and labelling components as needed.
• Write engineering requirements and specifications and use Microsoft Office, the company ERP system, and applicable graphic or PCB software.

Requirements

• Electrical or Electronic Engineering degree or Technologist diploma.
• Minimum 3+ years of experience in electronics design, repair, or assembly.
• Technical skills relevant to the principal responsibilities and duties.
• Experience with Altium Designer or other PCB layout software.
• Proficient soldering skills and awareness of IPC standards.
• Successful employment eligibility and satisfactory completion of background checks, including a national criminal record and sensitivities check, education verification, references, and required pre-employment testing.
• Ability to work on-site in an office and manufacturing-facility environment, including occasional presence on the manufacturing floor and use of required personal protective equipment.
• Ability to remain seated, perform repetitive computer tasks, move around the office, communicate clearly, operate standard office equipment, and occasionally lift or carry light objects.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with PCB assembly manufacturing processes.
• Experience or familiarity with mechanical design concepts and 3D CAD software.
• Understanding of HVAC system principles and controls.
• Understanding of software development principles and some programming experience.
