Associate Production Director (Broadcast Production)

Location: New York, New York; onsite at hirify.global’s New York City headquarters. The role supports a 24/7 production schedule, including early mornings, late nights, weekends, holidays, and on-call coverage.

Base salary: $84,250–$99,650 USD annually, plus potential equity and other benefits.

What you will do

• Serve as the primary Creative and Technical Director for live and coach-to-camera, on-demand workout classes.
• Translate creative concepts into live broadcasts through camera blocking, lighting transitions, audio direction, and real-time editorial decisions.
• Lead 1–2 Production Technicians in the control room, provide cues, and ensure Audio, Camera, and Vision positions meet production standards.
• Own the final artistic aesthetic and technical quality of broadcasts while maintaining style guides, SOPs, and technical workflows.
• Plan and execute high-stakes internal and external productions, and evaluate hardware and software improvements with Senior Management, Supervisors, and Engineering.
• Lead responses to technical failures and provide training, feedback, mentorship, and off-schedule technical guidance to the production team.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience in a live broadcast environment such as TV, News, or Sports, including demonstrated Director or Technical Director experience.
• A four-year degree in Broadcast Production, Communications, or a related field, or equivalent professional leadership experience.
• Expert knowledge of Ross Carbonite switchers, Yamaha QL/CL audio consoles, and advanced SDI, NDI, and Dante signal flow.
• Ability to lead a crew under live on-air pressure and troubleshoot complex signal paths and IP-based broadcast workflows autonomously.
• Ability to support a 24/7 production schedule and provide on-call support during off-schedule hours.
