Technical Project Manager (Ground Systems)

Location: Littleton, Colorado, United States; based at the Littleton site

Salary: $120,000–$175,000 USD base pay annually, plus potential stock and cash incentives.

What you will do

• Manage development, integration, and testing of routers, radios, laser communication devices, and ground segment software for spacecraft constellations.
• Apply systems engineering across space and ground segments, including requirements traceability, interface control documents, trade studies, and verification planning.
• Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, consultants, and internal engineering teams; maintain roadmaps, development plans, staffing plans, KPIs, and delivery milestones.
• Plan space-to-ground integration points, testing, simulation approaches, and end-to-end constellation data-flow validation.
• Lead cross-team planning, agile ceremonies, technical reviews, feedback cycles, and software development standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, aerospace engineering, systems engineering, or a similar technical discipline, plus 8+ years of industry experience.
• 3+ years of project management experience, including interfacing with external contractors.
• 3+ years of experience with spacecraft or satellite ground systems, such as mission operations, command and control, telemetry processing, or ground station networks.
• Thorough understanding of network software, the software development lifecycle, and agile methodologies including SAFe.
• Experience using Jira for software development management.
• Hands-on systems engineering experience with systems trades, requirements management and traceability, interface management, performance characterization, and verification and validation.
• Active security clearance or ability to obtain and maintain one.
• U.S. citizenship is required due to program requirements. U.S. export-control eligibility may also require U.S. citizenship, lawful permanent residence, refugee/asylee status, or applicable authorization.

Nice to have

• Active TS/SCI clearance; master’s degree; INCOSE certification or equivalent systems engineering credential.
• Experience with DOORS, Jama, Cameo, CCSDS, COSMOS, SDA NEBULA architectures, cybersecurity controls, encryption, Docker, Kubernetes, or DevSecOps.
• Experience leading agile teams and holding PMP, APMP, or similar project management qualifications.
• Experience with Microsoft Project, Smartsheet, or similar tools.
• Ownership mindset, proactive problem-solving, strong communication, and ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
