Director, Strategic Finance (Healthcare)

Location: New York, NY, United States; hybrid

Salary: $225K–$250K plus bonus.

What you will do

• Own financial strategy, modeling, market analysis, diligence, and investment cases for new business lines, service offerings, operational initiatives, and build-versus-buy decisions.
• Build operational and unit economics models and dashboards covering clinician capacity, productivity, cost per encounter, and operational efficiency.
• Partner with Product and Engineering to evaluate roadmap investments, build business cases, and track financial returns against commercial and operational outcomes.
• Lead monthly and quarterly business reviews and board reporting for Clinical Operations, Core Operations, and new business lines.
• Advise operational leaders on planning, budgeting, resource allocation, trade-offs, and measurable performance improvements.
• Own the annual operating plan and rolling forecasts, including headcount, vendor, and non-headcount spending, with variance analysis.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in strategic finance, FP&A, business partnering, investment banking, private equity, or a combination; healthcare or health tech experience is strongly preferred.
• Expert SQL skills, including writing complex queries and building reporting infrastructure used by executives.
• Expert financial modeling skills covering three-statement models, unit economics, and scenario planning.
• Experience owning and scaling new businesses, products, or operational functions and partnering with senior operational and product stakeholders.
• Healthcare delivery operations knowledge, including clinician capacity, scheduling, care operations, and margin drivers per encounter.
• Experience evaluating product and engineering investments and building scalable business infrastructure.
• Ability to communicate complex analysis clearly to the CFO, executive leadership, and board-level audiences.
• Ability to lead complex cross-functional initiatives as a hands-on, proactive player-coach.
• Ability to actively use AI tools in day-to-day work, with concrete examples of accelerating analysis, automating workflows, and improving decisions.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States; employment authorization is verified through E-Verify after an offer is accepted and Form I-9 is completed.
