Senior Back-End Engineer (Java, AI-Native)

What you will do

• Develop bug fixes, enhancements, and new features for a modern Warehouse Management System replacing a legacy platform.
• Investigate production incidents, diagnose complex issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement reliable fixes.
• Use AI-assisted engineering tools, including Claude and MCP integrations, for codebase analysis, issue investigation, implementation, and test generation.
• Validate AI-generated code and technical conclusions for correctness, security, maintainability, and production suitability.
• Perform code reviews and maintain high standards for code quality and engineering practices.
• Collaborate in a Scrum team from requirements analysis and technical design through implementation, testing, and deployment.

Requirements

• 5+ years of commercial software development experience, primarily with Java.
• Strong knowledge of OOP, design patterns, clean code, and software engineering principles.
• Strong experience with Java EE, Spring 5 Core/MVC/Security, and Spring Boot 2.
• Strong SQL skills and a solid understanding of relational database principles; experience designing, maintaining, and troubleshooting REST APIs.
• Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis skills, including in production environments.
• Deep experience with AIDLC and an agentic programming mindset, including effective AI use for codebase analysis, implementation, debugging, production investigation, and automated test generation.
• Strong unit testing skills with JUnit, Mockito, and related practices.
• Experience with Git, Maven, Jenkins, CI/CD pipelines, Unix/Linux, Bash, and Agile/Scrum environments.
• Familiarity with application servers such as IBM WebSphere and a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.

Nice to have

• Experience with Warehouse Management Systems, logistics, fulfillment, or other supply chain domains.
• Experience with IBM Db2 and/or Oracle Database, Docker, and containerized environments.
• Experience with C++, large-scale or legacy enterprise applications, and MCP-based AI tooling and integrations.
