Principal Electrical Engineer (Electrical Power Engineering)

Location: Allentown, Pennsylvania, United States; Houston, Texas, United States. Onsite role with 20% domestic travel to hirify.global and customer sites.

What you will do

• Lead the electrical scope for proposals and projects across the Americas.
• Assign work to electrical design teams and provide supervision and technical expertise to meet time and quality constraints.
• Mentor junior team members across the Air Separation Unit organization.
• Contribute technical input to the development of electrical design standards.
• Coordinate with suppliers and outsourcing partners and identify additional partners for project delivery.
• Define execution models, monitor performance, and improve electrical engineering processes.

Requirements

• Electrical Engineering degree plus PE status or active pursuit of PE status.
• Proven electrical power engineering experience in a design function within the process design industry.
• Experience with 1–10 MW induction and synchronous motors.
• Experience specifying and procuring low-, medium-, and high-voltage switchgear, power transformers, and power electronics, including LCI, VSD, and thyristor controllers.
• Ability to use power-system analysis software such as SKM Powertools or ETAP.
• Dedicated, driven approach with a commitment to quality, continuous learning, improvement, and contribution.
• Experience leading cross-functional teams.

Nice to have

• Experience with motors larger than 10 MW.
