Director of HV Power & Protections - Aerospace

Location: North Logan, Utah, USA; full-time onsite role. The position operates in an ITAR-compliant environment and may require U.S. Person status.

What you will do

• Lead the Electrical Engineering department, setting strategy, priorities, operating plans, and budget.
• Guide electrical designs from development through testing, qualification, documentation, and release.
• Review and approve electrical designs, test methods, installation procedures, and controlled technical documentation.
• Ensure aerospace, defense, and industry standards are applied appropriately.
• Recruit, coach, mentor, and develop engineers while building a culture of accountability, collaboration, and innovation.
• Represent Electrical Engineering to senior leadership, support customer engagements and proposals, and travel as needed to meet customers and suppliers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• At least 10 years of progressive engineering experience, including at least 5 years managing engineers.
• Strong knowledge of electrical engineering and of how design, development, testing, and documentation fit together.
• Ability to make sound technical decisions in complex situations and manage competing priorities without missing deadlines.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills.
• Comfort with Microsoft Office and business travel.
• May require U.S. Person status because the role involves access to ITAR-controlled information.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree.
• Experience leading an Electrical Engineering department or similarly significant function.
• Experience in aerospace, defense, transportation, or another highly regulated environment.
• Experience with high-voltage systems, electric propulsion, or aerospace energy storage.
• Experience applying aerospace standards to design and qualification.
