Member of Technical Staff, Internal Tooling (AI)

Location: Onsite in San Francisco or New York City, United States

Salary: $140,000–$260,000 base annually, with compensation varying by location; equity and benefits are also included.

What you will do

• Design and build internal applications, integrations, automations, backend services, and AI-powered workflows using TypeScript and Python.
• Work with GTM, Data, Security, Operations, and other internal users to understand workflows and create tools that reduce repetitive work.
• Build dependable LLM and agent workflows with evaluation, human review, fallback paths, and production safeguards.
• Develop workflows for lead routing, data enrichment, and operational processes by connecting internal tools and data.
• Turn prototypes and existing automations into maintainable systems with testing, monitoring, access controls, ownership, and ongoing support.
• Investigate application, integration, and data-flow failures while improving reliability, performance, cost, and system reuse.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of software engineering experience building and operating production applications, services, or integrations.
• Strong TypeScript and Python skills, including maintainable and tested production code in both.
• Ability to work directly with technical and non-technical users and turn ambiguous needs into useful products.
• Practical judgment about where AI adds value and where deterministic workflows or human review are required.
• Ability to follow problems across applications, APIs, databases, and infrastructure through resolution.
• Thoughtfulness about reliability, security, data access, and long-term system maintenance.
• Ability to take ownership, make tradeoffs, and communicate progress and decisions clearly.

Nice to have

• Experience building internal tools, business applications, or automation for GTM and Operations teams.
• Experience shipping LLM-powered applications or agent workflows, including quality evaluation and failure handling.
• Experience with Rust, cloud infrastructure, background jobs, or data pipelines.
• Experience integrating Salesforce, Snowflake, Slack, or similar tools.
