Intellectual Property Counsel (AI)

What you will do

• Become an expert in hirify.global’s state-of-the-art technology and collaborate with engineering teams to identify and protect innovative products and solutions.
• Use and help develop in-house patent tools built on hirify.global’s AI platform.
• Develop and implement intellectual property strategies aligned with business priorities, including patent harvesting and portfolio development.
• Manage trademark strategy, open source strategy and compliance, licensing and partnership agreements, and product development issues.
• Provide practical legal advice to product and business teams on a wide range of IP matters.

Requirements

• JD and 3+ years of intellectual property-related legal practice experience; in-house experience preferred.
• Experience with patent prosecution, open source compliance, product counseling, and managing outside counsel.
• Prior experience in or demonstrated interest in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
• Familiarity with large language models, programming languages, and/or software development practices.
• Demonstrated interest in supporting IP litigation.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with software developers, internal business teams, and third parties.
• Interest in prosecuting a small number of high-value patents filed at the USPTO using in-house AI automations built on the hirify.global platform.
• Ability to maintain attention to detail, handle novel and complex issues, multitask, and balance competing priorities in a rapidly changing environment.
