Senior Financial Controller (Fintech)

Location: Copenhagen, Denmark; 4 days in the office

What you will do

• Run month-, quarter-, and year-end close for assigned entities and contribute to group consolidation, intercompany accounting, and eliminations.
• Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations from core banking systems and subledgers to the general ledger, following breaks through resolution.
• Prepare parts of annual and half-year reports, support external audits, and write technical accounting memos.
• Guide Product and Tech on core banking flows and ensure new products are correctly reflected in the general ledger.
• Drive improvements in Microsoft Business Central and automate close steps with technical resources while coaching junior controllers.

Requirements

• Significant experience in financial controlling or audit, including substantial experience in a bank or regulated financial institution.
• Solid knowledge of core banking accounting for deposits, lending, cards, payments, settlement and clearing accounts, and product-ledger reconciliation to the general ledger.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS and Danish accounting rules for financial institutions, including annual report preparation and auditor collaboration.
• Hands-on experience with multi-entity, multi-currency consolidation and controlling in an international group.
• Ability to work independently, set priorities, and follow issues through to resolution.
• Ability to write SQL and query ledger and transaction data in a data warehouse.
• Comfort with new tools, automation, and AI as part of the role.

Nice to have

• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.
• Big Four financial services audit background.
• State authorised public accountant qualification.
• Experience in a fintech or scale-up.
• Professional working proficiency in Danish.
