Financial Controller (SaaS)

hirify.global is building an AI-powered legal research platform and legal database using artificial intelligence, intelligent search, and continuously updated legal sources. The company serves customers across Denmark, Germany, and Switzerland.

What you will do

• Own monthly and annual close activities, including journals, accruals, prepayments, provisions, reconciliations, trial balances, and financial statements.
• Ensure accurate SaaS revenue recognition across subscription, usage-based, and implementation revenue, reconciling billing, contracts, revenue schedules, and the general ledger.
• Produce monthly P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow reporting, and take ownership of revenue billing within finance.
• Manage outsourced service providers and review bank, intercompany, payroll, fixed asset, and other control-account reconciliations.
• Design financial policies, controls, approval limits, and segregation-of-duties procedures across payments, expenses, procurement, and system access.
• Oversee AP, AR, cashbook accounting, payments through Corepay, working capital, statutory accounts, external audits, VAT, corporate tax, and intercompany reporting across Denmark, Germany, Switzerland, and the UK; improve automation and develop a small accounting team over time.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in commercially focused accounting roles, ideally including previous Financial Controller experience.
• A recognised Danish accounting qualification or equivalent qualification such as ACA, ACCA, or CIMA.
• Hands-on experience with subscription and deferred revenue, including month-end revenue reconciliations.
• Experience independently running month-end close and producing accurate management accounts.
• Experience with intercompany balances, foreign currencies, and reporting across international subsidiaries.
• Exposure to international tax, VAT, and transfer pricing, with experience running a local audit process.
• Strong understanding of internal controls, segregation of duties, and fraud risk.
• Experience improving finance operations in a growing business, with an interest in systems and automation.
• Strong attention to detail and analytical ability to distinguish business issues from accounting errors.
