Senior Cloud Platform Engineer (AWS/Kubernetes)

What you will do

• Design, build, and operate shared AWS and Kubernetes capabilities across hundreds of accounts, multiple workloads, and eight regions.
• Create reusable platform patterns for account foundations, networking, identity, compute, storage, deployment, and observability.
• Use Terraform, Helm, Argo CD, and related automation to make infrastructure and application delivery repeatable, reviewable, and recoverable.
• Improve the internal developer platform and service catalogue, including Port, with clear self-service paths, documentation, templates, and support processes.
• Define and improve SLOs, operational readiness, resilience, disaster recovery, capacity planning, observability, incident response, and problem management.
• Apply AWS security and governance practices, improve cost visibility and efficiency, and coach engineering teams on design, troubleshooting, and operational practices.

Requirements

• Significant experience designing, building, and running production platforms or distributed systems on AWS.
• Strong hands-on Kubernetes experience, ideally Amazon EKS, including cluster lifecycle, scheduling, networking, storage, security, and workload operations.
• Strong Infrastructure as Code experience, especially designing maintainable Terraform projects, modules, and shared patterns at scale.
• Experience with GitOps and continuous delivery, ideally using Argo CD and Helm.
• Solid understanding of AWS multi-account environments, IAM, identity federation, OIDC, networking, DNS, VPNs, firewalls, and common AWS security controls.
• Experience designing observability for system health and customer-impacting issue investigation.
• Scripting and automation skills in shell and/or Python.
• Experience leading complex technical initiatives from discovery through implementation, adoption, and operational ownership.
• Understanding of reliability, security, data privacy, change management, and the trade-offs of globally distributed systems; confident written and spoken English is required.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with Grafana Cloud, Elastic Cloud, or similar platforms.
• Familiarity with Java-based production systems; deep Java development experience is not needed.
