Data Governance & Business Intelligence Manager (Manufacturing)

Location: Hybrid, based in the US, UK, or Europe; primary location Buffalo, NY. Other listed locations include Tewkesbury, UK; Amsterdam, Netherlands; and Christiansburg, VA. Domestic and international travel may be required.

Base pay: $130,000–$180,000 per year in the US, or an equivalent benchmark in Europe/UK.

What you will do

• Lead the Industrial Group data governance program, including operating models, standards, policies, stewardship, data ownership, glossaries, metadata, and data quality practices.
• Own the KPI framework and performance measurement strategy, governing metric definitions, calculation logic, lifecycle, certification, and adoption across business units.
• Lead business intelligence strategy, dashboard and reporting standards, visualization practices, analytics roadmaps, and certified reusable reporting assets.
• Manage BI analysts and lead cross-functional collaboration with Finance, Supply Chain, Operations, Engineering, Quality, Commercial, IT, and business process owners.
• Translate business needs into governed analytics requirements and support data literacy, change management, and executive reporting.
• Support SAP ECC to SAP S/4HANA and related data modernization initiatives through data validation, KPI certification, migration governance, and legacy-report retirement.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Engineering, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent education and experience.
• At least seven years of experience in data governance, business intelligence, analytics, performance management, or related disciplines, including significant experience leading teams or enterprise capabilities.
• Experience establishing data governance programs, stewardship models, business data standards, and data quality practices in a complex organization.
• Experience defining KPI frameworks, business metrics, semantic definitions, and performance measurement practices across multiple functions or business units.
• Strong expertise with business intelligence and visualization platforms such as Power BI, Tableau, Spotfire, SAP Analytics Cloud, or comparable solutions.
• Experience engaging senior leaders and cross-functional stakeholders to resolve competing definitions, priorities, and reporting needs.
• Strong facilitation, communication, change leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
• Working familiarity with modern data architectures and platforms, including Databricks lakehouse concepts, semantic models, data catalogs, lineage, and governance controls.

Nice to have

• Experience supporting ERP transformation or modernization initiatives; SAP ECC, SAP S/4HANA, or SAP BW experience is preferred.
• Knowledge of DAMA-DMBOK, DCAM, COBIT, or comparable data management and governance frameworks.
• Experience in manufacturing, aerospace, industrial, or another complex regulated environment.
