Sr. Manager, Enterprise Applications (ERP/Finance)

Location: Chicago, IL, or remote from Illinois. Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States; employment visa sponsorship is unavailable.

Base salary: $154,200–$192,750 per year, with potential bonus and/or equity eligibility depending on level and role.

What you will do

• Own the finance and ERP platform end to end, including requirements, delivery, production support, quarter-end, and year-end operations.
• Define the future state of PeopleSoft and lead evaluation of an Oracle Fusion transition, including modules, phases, vendors, cost, risk, and Finance impact.
• Lead the tax platform replacement, Canada multicurrency implementation, regulatory updates, and technical architecture for Finance tools.
• Own SOX and IT general controls, access reviews, segregation of duties, audit evidence, auditor relationships, and remediation of findings.
• Lead a core team and managed service provider, manage vendor and license spend, improve sprint-based prioritization, and remain hands-on for design reviews and incident troubleshooting.
• Own integration architecture and technical controls across ERP, HCM, Workday, tax, banking, and adjacent systems while identifying appropriate AI and automation opportunities.

Requirements

• 8+ years managing enterprise business applications, including direct technical ownership of an ERP or finance platform such as PeopleSoft, Oracle, SAP, JD Edwards, or similar.
• 3+ years managing people and vendors, including an MSP or offshore team, while remaining accountable for results.
• Working knowledge of SOX and IT general controls and experience handling an audit.
• Fluency in finance processes including AP, GL, tax, expense, and close, along with the tools supporting them.
• Experience building an application roadmap, ideally including a major platform transition, and owning enterprise-system intake and delivery.
• Experience partnering with business stakeholders to prioritize requests and shape platform direction.
• Experience partnering with business platform owners on functional configuration while owning technical, integration, and control responsibilities.
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Business, Computer Science, or a similar field, or equivalent experience.

Nice to have

• PeopleSoft Financials or Oracle Fusion experience, plus working knowledge of Workday and related integrations.
• Experience with a tax engine replacement or multicurrency implementation.
• Sprint or agile delivery for enterprise systems and practical AI or automation use around an ERP.
• Comfort working in a matrixed organization with complex reporting relationships.
