Senior Internal Auditor (Projects)

Location: Bratislava, Slovakia; hybrid workplace with home office possible 2 days per week. Travel up to 30% may be required.

Basic wage component: €3,300 gross per month minimum; final compensation depends on level, skills, experience, and qualifications.

What you will do

• Lead and execute audits of large international EPC projects.
• Review project governance, project controls, cost, schedule, and contract management.
• Assess execution risks, identify root causes of delays and cost overruns, and recommend practical improvements.
• Partner with project leadership to strengthen decision-making, reduce delivery risk, and improve project outcomes.
• Present clear, business-focused insights to senior stakeholders, including Project Directors and Construction Managers.
• Support continuous improvement through data-driven auditing and stronger governance and internal control frameworks.

Requirements

• Degree in Project Management, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
• 7–15 years of experience in EPC or large industrial projects, including expertise in project governance, cost and schedule control, contracts, risk, claims, or construction management.
• Strong understanding of the EPC project lifecycle, CAPEX governance, and project controls.
• Experience with tools such as Primavera or MS Project.
• Excellent analytical, communication, negotiation, and stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to challenge senior leaders constructively.
• High integrity, business acumen, and a hands-on, improvement-driven mindset.
• Ability to work independently in international, matrix organizations.
• Willingness to travel up to 30%.
