Senior Financial Statement Preparer

Location: Fully remote, Bratislavský kraj, Slovakia

Salary: €2,230–€4,000 per month for a full-time schedule; final compensation depends on skills, education, and experience and will not be below the local minimum wage.

What you will do

• Lead the preparation and review of statutory financial statements, balance sheets, P&L, and cash flow reports for assigned EMEA entities.
• Manage external auditors, tax advisors, and legal teams through timely, audit-ready statutory filing cycles.
• Prepare Local GAAP to US GAAP reconciliations and resolve technical accounting and audit queries with regional finance and controllership stakeholders.
• Provide subject-matter guidance and quality reviews for junior team members.
• Standardize processes, automate workflows, improve statutory reporting operations, and support adoption of new accounting standards.
• Maintain internal controls and documentation frameworks for compliance and audit readiness.

Requirements

• University degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
• 5+ years of progressive experience in statutory accounting, external audit, or financial reporting within a multinational organization.
• Deep technical knowledge of IFRS and EMEA local GAAPs.
• Hands-on proficiency with SAP or equivalent ERP platforms and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Experience managing multiple reporting entities simultaneously under tight month-end and year-end deadlines.
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and independent problem-solving ability in dynamic environments.
• Excellent English communication and stakeholder management skills across geographically distributed teams.

Nice to have

• Professional accounting qualification such as ACCA, CPA, or a local equivalent, completed or in progress.
• Experience at a Big 4 audit firm or in a large shared services center.
• Knowledge of group consolidation and cross-border statutory audit management.
• Proficiency in an additional European language such as German, French, or Spanish.
