Senior Software Engineer – AI Agent Platform (AI)

What you will do

• Design, implement, and operate scalable back-end platform services for agent orchestration, execution, sessions, resource management, and platform control.
• Build dependable agent runtimes with isolated execution environments, lifecycle control, streaming, cancellation, failure recovery, and integrations with models, tools, knowledge systems, and internal services.
• Develop orchestration for asynchronous and long-running agent work, including identity, context, configuration, retries, idempotency, partial failures, and durable state.
• Engineer reliable, observable, secure, and cost-effective production systems with metrics, traces, logs, health signals, and operational tools.
• Design and operate AWS cloud-native infrastructure using containers, Kubernetes, virtualized execution environments, managed cloud services, and event-driven infrastructure.
• Lead technical design discussions, review code, mentor engineers, collaborate across product, infrastructure, and security teams, and remain involved in implementation, testing, deployment, and production operations.

Requirements

• Strong practical software engineering experience building back-end, infrastructure, or platform systems in production.
• Strong proficiency in at least one production back-end language such as Python, Go, Rust, Java, C++, or TypeScript, with the ability to work across an evolving technology stack.
• Strong understanding of distributed systems, including consistency, concurrency, asynchronous processing, retries, idempotency, partial failure, and service-to-service communication.
• Experience designing maintainable services and APIs with clear ownership, stable contracts, and appropriate boundaries between transient coordination and durable state.
• Hands-on experience with a major cloud platform, ideally AWS, and container technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• Production operations experience covering monitoring, observability, incident diagnosis, performance analysis, capacity planning, and reliability improvements.
• Understanding of authentication, authorization, secret management, workload isolation, and risks associated with user- or agent-directed workloads.
• Ability to solve ambiguous and complex technical problems pragmatically, with strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with workflow engines, orchestration systems, schedulers, developer platforms, or execution runtimes.
• Experience with sandboxing, container isolation, virtual machines, microVMs, or Firecracker.
• Familiarity with AI agents, agent loops, tool calling, model gateways, skills, MCP servers, or related integration patterns.
• Experience with streaming protocols and real-time communication, including Server-Sent Events and WebSockets.
• Experience designing multi-tenant systems with strong authorization and isolation requirements.
• Familiarity with event-driven systems, queues, and long-running asynchronous workflows. Prior machine-learning model training is not required.
