Staff Product Manager (Runtime Team)

Location: London, United Kingdom. Flexible working from home is available, with work from outside the UK permitted for up to 6 months each year.

What you will do

• Own product strategy for the production runtime, model inference and data platform.
• Set build-versus-buy and self-hosted-versus-managed serving direction, evaluating cost, latency and scalability.
• Build evaluation frameworks for latency, throughput, cost per minute or token and failure rates, then drive continuous improvement.
• Partner with infrastructure and platform engineering leadership to prioritize technical roadmaps without visible customer-facing surfaces.
• Own conversation-data flows, including residency, retention and access-control tradeoffs.
• Lead engineers, data scientists and infrastructure specialists without formal authority and represent platform cost, capacity and risk in executive discussions.

Requirements

• 6+ years of product management or related technical experience, including ownership of infrastructure, ML/data platform or runtime-adjacent products rather than only user-facing features.
• Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics or a related AI/ML or distributed-systems field, or equivalent industry experience.
• Strong working knowledge of inference and model-serving infrastructure, including latency budgets, GPU/node economics and self-hosted versus managed serving tradeoffs.
• Ability to own a roadmap without an end-user-visible surface and build the business case for infrastructure investment.
• Experience making data-platform decisions involving pipelines, residency and compliance constraints, and regional or product-line data fragmentation.
• Demonstrated senior-level direction-setting and experience mentoring junior product managers.
• Entrepreneurial mindset, comfort with ambiguity and ability to iterate quickly in a high-growth environment.
• Exceptional cross-functional communication, especially when translating infrastructure tradeoffs for non-technical stakeholders.
