System Administrator (Windows/VMware)

Location: Onsite at the Corporate Headquarters in Wood Dale, Illinois, with a planned relocation to the Merchandise Mart in Chicago in early 2027; travel to other hirify.global locations may be required.

Salary: $90,000–$120,000 annually, plus eligibility for a 10% bonus.

What you will do

• Build, install, configure, and manage physical and virtual server environments.
• Deploy and maintain application infrastructure across cloud-based and on-premises systems.
• Monitor backups, test recovery plans, and support data availability and disaster recovery.
• Monitor infrastructure and create dashboards, reports, and alerts.
• Resolve server, networking, and end-user application issues while escalating when necessary.
• Remediate vulnerabilities, automate repetitive tasks, and collaborate on intradepartmental IT projects.

Requirements

• Solid experience configuring, installing, and administering VMware.
• In-depth working experience with Windows Server 2016–2025, including Active Directory, certificate services, IIS, patches, service packs, security configurations, and hot fixes.
• Experience with data storage and SAN technologies.
• PowerShell scripting experience.
• Strong quantitative, problem-solving, interpersonal, IT customer service, communication, attention-to-detail, and productivity skills.
• Ability to pursue technical issues through resolution and apply advanced automation techniques to manual systems.
• Ability to travel to other hirify.global locations when needed.
• Ability to work in an office setting and adapt to a traditional business environment.

Nice to have

• Credentials demonstrating the ability to perform Windows Server and VMware tasks.
• Ability to evaluate and decide on software and hardware required to meet organizational needs.
• Linux experience.
