Finance Associate - 1 Year Maternity Cover (Financial Services)

What you will do

• Support month-end close, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.
• Prepare and review monthly P&L and balance sheet reconciliations, resolving discrepancies promptly.
• Implement accounting policies, procedures, and checklists where needed.
• Maintain financial controls and ensure balance sheet accounts are fully reconciled each month.
• Analyze financial performance through variance analysis, trend analysis, and forecasting, providing insights from financial data.
• Assist with tax filings, year-end accounting, audit queries, and strategic ad hoc projects such as transformation and new business acquisition.

Requirements

• ACA/ACCA or equivalent, part-qualified.
• Strong financial reporting background with exposure to year-end and audit duties.
• Strong analytical and numerical skills with attention to detail.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proactive, adaptable, willing to learn, and able to collaborate in a fast-paced team environment.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with financial software.
• Working knowledge of SunSystems and SAP Invoices.
