Systems and Solutions Engineer (Intel x86)

Location: Taipei, Taiwan; hybrid work model with time split between the assigned Intel site and off-site work.

What you will do

• Translate customer requirements and business opportunities into system specifications and design plans.
• Design, analyze, and implement hardware and software integration solutions for system performance, reliability, and sustainability.
• Review schematics and PCB layouts, perform system power-on and validation activities, and resolve issues through structured debugging and root-cause analysis.
• Provide technical support and training on system architecture, tools, and processes throughout the customer development lifecycle.
• Conduct lab experiments, simulations, and feasibility studies for next-generation features.
• Reproduce customer issues on Intel reference designs and deliver timely end-to-end technical solutions.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field with 4+ years of relevant experience; or a Master's degree with 3+ years; or a PhD with no prior professional experience.
• Extensive experience with Intel x86 architecture systems, client PC development, and hardware validation processes.
• Proficiency in schematic design, PCB layout, and standard laboratory debugging tools.
• Technical expertise in Intel processors, chipsets, PCIe, ACPI specifications, memory interfaces, and high-speed I/O.
• Experience with system power-on, debugging, and issue root-cause analysis.
• Business fluency in English and Mandarin and the ability to work in multicultural, global teams across multiple locations.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of signal integrity and power integrity principles.
• Python scripting and automated testing experience.
• Experience with hardware debugging tools, system BIOS, and related technologies.
• Ability to analyze and write technical documentation, including design specifications, requirements, and validation plans.
• Knowledge of JEDEC memory standards, PCIe SIG interfaces, USB-IF standards, and display technologies.
• Project management skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively in dynamic environments.
