Platform Engineer (AI)

Location: Remote in the U.S.; 3+ days per week in person at the Brooklyn Navy Yard office. The role is open only to U.S. citizens and other U.S. Persons.

Base salary: $160,000–$230,000 per year.

hirify.global is a startup building AI-powered government contract data infrastructure for government agencies and contractors across commercial cloud, FedRAMP High, and DoW Impact Level 5 environments.

What you will do

• Operate the platform across commercial cloud, AWS GovCloud FedRAMP High, and IL5 environments, including maintaining internal builds of Supabase and Trigger.dev.
• Run Kubernetes clusters, GitOps pipelines, networking, and observability, and make new environment provisioning repeatable.
• Build infrastructure for AI agents, automated remediation loops, and deployment tooling used by engineers and agents.
• Integrate customer data with the deployment team and support enterprise users managing large government contract volumes.
• Own infrastructure and security from requirements through production operation, working directly with the CTO.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in platform, infrastructure, or security engineering.
• Experience building infrastructure that other engineers depend on.
• Deep production Kubernetes experience, including cluster operations, networking, GitOps, and zero-downtime upgrades.
• Experience leading infrastructure through a real migration or scaling event and explaining what failed.
• Security-by-default experience with hardened images, least-privilege access, network policy, and secrets management.
• U.S. citizenship or U.S. Person status is required.

Nice to have

• Experience with FedRAMP, IL, HIPAA, or other regulated environments.
• Postgres operations, including replication, backups, and migrations.
• Backend TypeScript experience.
• Open-source infrastructure work.
• Active or previous security clearance.
