Engineering Manager (AI)

Location: Geneva, Switzerland; onsite with three anchor office days on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays. Candidates must be based in Geneva or be willing to relocate.

What you will do

• Lead and mentor a squad of 8 Engineers, supporting professional growth, autonomy, onboarding, and high performance.
• Set squad objectives with the AI team and align the product vision with company strategy and department goals.
• Oversee technical architecture, engineering direction, software quality, sprint progress, and delivery processes.
• Build a culture of feedback, continuous improvement, collaboration, humility, and servant leadership.
• Coordinate with Product Managers, designers, developer squads, Marketing, Management, and engineering manager peers.
• Partner with Hiring to recruit Engineers and improve the team hiring process.

Requirements

• 8+ years of software development or equivalent experience in the software development domain, including a strong understanding of software testing.
• 3+ years of leadership or management experience with a proven record of delivering results and building high-performing teams.
• Advanced knowledge of the Java ecosystem and good knowledge of at least one programming language and its development environment.
• Developer mindset with experience across the coding lifecycle, secure coding, code reviews, and working in unfamiliar codebases, languages, and frameworks.
• Experience with Agile methodologies.
• Growth mindset and commitment to helping individuals and teams reach their potential.
• Strong decision-making, prioritization, autonomy, and ability to make concrete progress amid ambiguity and imperfect knowledge.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, listening, feedback, problem-identification, conflict-resolution, and collaboration skills.
