Engineering Manager (AI)

Location: Remote, United States; the role is associated with Oakland, California.

Salary: $250,000–$300,000 base plus above-market equity.

What you will do

• Lead, coach, and grow a high-performing software engineering team.
• Drive delivery of impactful, user-facing product initiatives.
• Partner with Product, Design, and Research to execute priorities.
• Mentor engineers through technical and career development.
• Contribute to architecture, system design, and technical planning.
• Improve engineering processes, team effectiveness, hiring, onboarding, and AI-assisted software development.

Requirements

• Experience leading and developing high-performing software engineering teams.
• Startup experience in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
• Strong technical judgment and software engineering fundamentals.
• Experience delivering complex, user-facing products.
• Proven experience coaching and developing engineers.
• Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Passion for AI, large language models, and impactful products.
