Manufacturing Engineer (PET Film)

Location: Onsite at Decatur, Alabama, United States; travel may include up to 10%; relocation assistance may be authorized.

Expected compensation: $98,964–$120,957, including base pay plus variable incentive pay if eligible.

What you will do

• Develop and implement safety, quality, service, and productivity improvements in Decatur polyester film production areas.
• Support local and global manufacturing teams with issue and complaint resolution, root cause analysis, communication, and corrective actions.
• Lead new-product scale-up and collaborate on cross-functional teams.
• Apply Lean, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement tools to drive manufacturing improvements.
• Develop training, process standards, and documentation for production-line operations.
• Cover production and experimental runs in a 24/7 manufacturing environment as needed.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher, completed and verified before starting.
• An internship or one year of experience in process engineering, product engineering, manufacturing engineering, process development, or quality in a private, public, government, or military environment.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without employment visa sponsorship.
• U.S. person status assessment is required because the role may involve export-controlled information, systems, technologies, and services.
• Education and work history must be provided through a resume or directly in the application.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in an engineering discipline.
• Three years of experience in process engineering, product engineering, manufacturing engineering, process development, or quality.
• Experience with batch extrusion, film making, coating, and/or winding.
• Strong organization, communication, project management, and coaching skills.
• Six Sigma or quality improvement training or certification.
• Experience working on cross-functional teams and in project management.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
