Managing Consultant (HEOR/Epidemiology)

Location: Boston, MA; New York, NY; or Washington, DC, United States. Hybrid work with colleagues in the office three to four days per week on average.

Salary: $150,000–$200,000 per year.

What you will do

• Develop and implement epidemiological, pharmacoepidemiological, and HEOR methodologies for real-world evidence generation.
• Analyze electronic health records, claims, clinical trial data, and registries using statistical programming tools.
• Design technical study reports, client deliverables, presentations, conference abstracts, and scientific publications.
• Plan and manage small- to medium-sized engagements and workstreams within larger projects, meeting deadlines and deliverables.
• Delegate assignments, supervise junior staff, monitor progress, and review work for completeness and accuracy.
• Manage client relationships, contribute to business development, staff training, recruiting, and practice activities.

Requirements

• PhD in Epidemiology, Biostatistics, Health Services Research, or a related discipline is required; a PhD in Epidemiology is highly preferred.
• At least 3 years of relevant experience in consulting, the pharmaceutical industry, or regulatory agencies such as the FDA, focused on epidemiology, pharmacoepidemiology, HEOR, or real-world evidence generation.
• Experience designing and conducting real-world evidence studies with healthcare data, including electronic health records, administrative claims, or registries, using rigorous epidemiologic and statistical methods.
• Ability to independently execute complex data analytics and interpret results in at least one programming language, such as R, SAS, Stata, or Python; willingness to further develop technical skills and mentor others is required.
• Experience collaborating with internal teams and external experts on scientific evidence for regulatory submissions or decision-making, including FDA-related activities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to explain complex concepts to diverse audiences and supervise junior colleagues.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, commitment to continuous learning and professional development, and dedication to high-quality work.
• Must be able to provide verification of legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.
