Staff Platform Engineer (AWS/CI/CD)

Location: Remote - Global; remote work with on-call and incident-response coverage during Americas hours

Salary: $137K–$170K in Chile; $130K–$165K in Brazil and Colombia; $97K–$113K in the Dominican Republic

What you will do

• Lead a workstream within the Continuous Delivery initiative from design and architecture review through production.
• Design, build, and operate cloud infrastructure, developer environments, CI/CD, observability, and operational tooling.
• Improve CI reliability, merge workflows, deployment automation, local development environments, and developer productivity.
• Shape architecture across teams by leading technical proposals and taking decisions from review and approval through implementation.
• Build automation, self-service environments, and infrastructure supporting increasingly autonomous AI engineering workflows.
• Share production reliability, on-call, incident response, and engineering-wide technical initiatives with the distributed Platform team.

Requirements

• Staff-level experience leading large, ambiguous initiatives as a hands-on individual contributor, including delivery ownership, trade-offs, and major architectural decisions across teams.
• Experience improving engineering practices, influencing peers, partnering with engineering leadership, and raising technical standards.
• Experience designing, building, and operating production systems on AWS, including ECS/Fargate, RDS, or equivalents.
• Experience with containers and infrastructure as code using Terraform/Terragrunt, with strong judgment around scalability, reliability, and security.
• Expertise improving CI/CD pipelines, testing infrastructure, and deployment workflows with measurable gains in delivery speed, frequency, and reliability.
• Experience building self-service developer tooling, developer environments, and scalable abstractions for engineers and autonomous AI agents.
• Experience designing reliable, observable production systems with Datadog or equivalent tooling, including monitoring, alerting, complex failure diagnosis, and lasting operational improvements.
• Hands-on implementation is required; the role is not limited to advising or working through a ticket queue.
