Senior AI-Native Designer & Builder, Design System (AI)

Location: Hybrid, 3 days per week at the Santa Clara, California HQ; salary range applies across US locations

Salary: $134,000–$167,500 USD base pay per year, excluding commission, bonus, equity, and benefits.

What you will do

• Design, architect, and refine reusable components and interaction patterns for scalable product experiences.
• Write component specifications, usage guidelines, standards, and documentation, using AI to accelerate drafting and maintenance.
• Use AI-powered design and developer tools such as Cursor, Devin, and Claude to build live prototypes, validate architecture, and accelerate implementation.
• Partner with UI engineers to align design intent with web technologies and create responsive, accessible, consumable component structures.
• Support product design teams adopting the design system, including guidance on component architecture and troubleshooting complex layouts.

Requirements

• Experience integrating AI assistants or modern generation and prototyping tools into daily design and development workflows to accelerate outcomes and build interactive layouts.
• 6+ years of Product/UX Design experience, including 1–2 years contributing to a multi-product design system.
• Expertise in systematic component architecture and understanding how components build into patterns, templates, and complete applications.
• Familiarity with accessibility frameworks such as WCAG 2.1/2.2 and responsive structural layout design.
• Strong collaboration skills, including educating and guiding designers within systematic guidelines and structured grids.
• Ownership, integrity, problem-solving ability, adaptability, technical curiosity, precise communication, and comfort with ongoing feedback.

Nice to have

• Ability to use AI technologies and workflows to drive measurable operational efficiency.
• Literacy in modern frontend technologies such as React, CSS/HTML, token-driven theming, or JSON properties, with the ability to inspect and discuss code structures with developers.
• Experience using AI-assisted development tools such as Cursor and Claude to generate, customize, or preview coded components.
• Experience designing systems for cybersecurity, infrastructure, developer tools, or other highly technical domains.
