UX Designer

Location: Remote work from Virginia, United States

Salary: $100,000–$110,000 per year

What you will do

• Research customer and user journeys, interactions, touchpoints, existing tools, and processes to identify challenges and opportunities.
• Plan and lead user research through surveys, interviews, focus groups, observations, and other engagement strategies.
• Create research reports, journey maps, workflows, personas, scenarios, use cases, wireframes, mockups, and prototypes.
• Validate designs through usability testing and incorporate user feedback throughout product development.
• Collaborate with federal engineers, clients, stakeholders, UX/UI designers, and technical teams to define and implement intuitive solutions.
• Translate research and discovery findings into clear, testable business and functional requirements and support case studies, demonstrations, and training.

Requirements

• Must be a US Citizen and able to obtain a Public Trust.
• Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of combined professional experience.
• Online portfolio showcasing UX design experience and deliverables.
• Experience creating UX deliverables for complex systems, including user journey maps, research plans, empathy maps, service blueprints, stakeholder maps, user flows, storyboards, interaction models, wireframes, prototypes, and testing plans.
• Experience interpreting user research and analytics to produce insights and recommendations.
• Experience collaborating with UX/UI designers and technical teams on high-fidelity prototyping, piloting, testing, and implementation.
• Results-oriented problem-solving skills with high standards for quality, accuracy, attention to detail, and excellence.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills, including presenting projects and status reports to management, customers, and stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.

Nice to have

• Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously.
• Experience working in Agile or similar lean delivery teams.
• Experience with Microsoft 365, Figma, Adobe Creative Cloud, and HTML/CSS.
• Public speaking and presentation experience.
• Experience supporting federal programs, preferably DHS.
