2027 Valuation Summer Intern (Alternative Asset Management)

Location: Chicago, Illinois, United States. Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship now or in the future.

Salary: $65,000–$70,000 USD annual base salary.

What you will do

• Review quarterly valuations of illiquid securities across common and preferred equity, senior and mezzanine debt, and warrants.
• Support coordination, training, and direction for investment professionals preparing valuations and preliminary concluded values.
• Maintain and support the iLevel cloud-based valuation reporting solution.
• Conduct aggregate portfolio analyses and help prepare materials for the valuation committee.
• Coordinate with accounting, fund finance, performance reporting, investments, third-party valuation consultants, and valuation specialists.
• Handle confidential information and complete ad-hoc and strategic projects.

Requirements

• Pursuing an undergraduate degree in Accounting, Finance, or another relevant major with a superior GPA.
• Strong PC experience; high proficiency in MS Excel and Power BI is preferred.
• Ability to work flexibly in a fast-paced, changing environment and manage multiple tasks in a cross-functional team.
• Excellent writing, listening, communication, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage tasks independently through completion while maintaining attention to detail, quality, accuracy, and deadlines.
• High integrity, discretion, confidentiality awareness, organization, curiosity, continuous-learning mindset, and independent thinking.
• Ability to collaborate effectively and provide excellent client service.
• Curiosity about AI and willingness to use AI-enabled tools such as Claude and ChatGPT to improve productivity and workflows.
