Senior User Experience Designer (AI)

Location: Chicago, IL; hybrid schedule with in-office work Tuesday through Thursday and remote flexibility on Mondays and Fridays. Candidates must be eligible to work in the United States. Visa sponsorship and sponsorship takeovers are not available.

Annual salary: $75,000–$110,000, with possible additional bonus compensation.

What you will do

• Lead UX research end to end by framing questions, selecting methods, conducting studies, and synthesizing qualitative and quantitative findings.
• Translate customer insights, research, and business requirements into concepts, wireframes, high-fidelity Figma prototypes, and scalable digital experiences.
• Integrate AI into research, synthesis, ideation, prototyping, and design workflows, while evaluating emerging tools.
• Collaborate with Product, Engineering, Marketing, UX Writing, UX leadership, and fellow designers to influence decisions and move work from definition through launch and iteration.
• Apply and evolve design systems while balancing customer needs, business objectives, technical constraints, legal, compliance, and accessibility requirements.
• Identify opportunities, define success metrics, and use performance data to continuously improve customer and business outcomes.

Requirements

• 6+ years of UX design experience, including financial services or another highly regulated industry, with a portfolio demonstrating research, design execution, and measurable product impact.
• Advanced qualitative and quantitative research skills, including independently planning and conducting studies, synthesizing findings, and translating insights into design decisions.
• Strong UX craft in information architecture, interaction design, prototyping, and visual design; advanced Figma proficiency and experience with design systems.
• Experience applying generative AI across UX research and design workflows.
• Ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders, challenge assumptions, and balance business, technical, and user needs.
• Strong business acumen and strategic thinking, including identifying product opportunities and connecting customer insights to measurable outcomes.
• Adaptability, sound judgment, independent problem-solving, and the ability to navigate ambiguity and changing priorities.
• Experience with UX research and behavioral analytics tools such as Dscout, FullStory, or similar platforms.
• Understanding of digital product development, technical constraints, and agile workflows, plus close partnership with Engineering.
• Familiarity with design-to-development tools and workflows such as Storybook, Chromatic, or similar technologies.
