Principal Engineer (AI)

Location: Hybrid role based in Frisco, Texas; New York, New York; Ann Arbor, Michigan; Eagan, Minnesota; or Toronto, Ontario.

Base salary: $158,900–$295,100 USD annually for eligible US locations; $183,100–$340,000 USD in certain listed US locations.

What you will do

• Define technical vision and software development strategies for critical AI projects supporting Corporate Tax and Trade products.
• Lead the design and development of AI-native product features and user experiences.
• Integrate LLMs and generative AI technologies into customer-facing Tax and Trade applications.
• Optimize Micro Front Ends for low latency, scalability, and user experience.
• Lead complex technical initiatives, manage technical risk, and make autonomous decisions.
• Mentor engineering managers, architects, and developers while collaborating across functions to translate business requirements into technical solutions.

Requirements

• 10+ years of hands-on software engineering experience developing scalable, web-based solutions.
• Expertise with modern UI frameworks such as React, Angular, or Vue, plus TypeScript, Node.js, and Python.
• Experience with AI technologies, including prompt engineering, retrieval-augmented generation, and fine-tuning.
• Experience integrating AI/ML technologies into customer-facing applications.
• Experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP cloud platforms.
• Background in enterprise SaaS environments.
• Ability to mentor others and promote best practices in release management, AI development tools, and test-driven development.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to influence across organizational boundaries.
• Ability to navigate ambiguity, make data-driven decisions, and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
• Advanced degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
