Senior Solution Architect (AWS/.NET/Angular/React)

Location: Remote in Canada; occasional travel to Edmonton, Alberta

Compensation: CAD 80–90 per hour

What you will do

• Lead the architecture and technical direction of a cloud-based K–12 education platform for a provincial government client.
• Design and implement scalable, secure, cloud-native AWS solutions, including serverless applications with C#, .NET, and DynamoDB.
• Design microservices architectures, RESTful APIs, frontend application architectures, and cloud adoption roadmaps.
• Establish architecture standards, conduct code reviews, and improve software quality, CI/CD pipelines, and automated deployments.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions.
• Mentor developers and provide technical leadership across agile teams while evaluating AI-assisted development tools.

Requirements

• Degree or diploma in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience as a Solution Architect or Software Architect on software development projects, or 7+ years with a one-year certificate.
• 3+ years of architecture experience using C#, .NET, AWS DynamoDB, and Visual Studio Code.
• 3+ years of experience architecting and developing applications on AWS.
• 3+ years of hands-on experience developing, building, testing, and deploying applications using Angular 2+ and/or React.
• Strong understanding of cloud architecture, microservices, REST APIs, and modern software development practices.
• Experience providing technical leadership within agile development teams.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.

Nice to have

• Experience architecting AWS serverless applications with Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, and other cloud-native technologies.
• Hands-on experience with both Angular and React.
• Advanced knowledge of NoSQL databases, particularly DynamoDB and MongoDB.
• Experience designing enterprise-scale cloud platforms serving large user populations.
• Experience with government, education, or other public-sector digital transformation projects.
• Familiarity with NgRx, NGXS, Redux, Material Design, SCSS, and TypeScript.
• Experience incorporating AI-assisted development tools into software engineering workflows.
