Senior AI Developer - Data

Location: Remote across Canada, with access to the Montreal office and in-person gatherings twice a year.

Base salary: CAD 140,000–170,000 per year; final offers may be adjusted according to the candidate's region in Canada.

What you will do

• Design, build, ship, and operate production AI systems and agentic workflows for products and internal operations.
• Build production quality into AI systems through observability, testing, security, and cost controls.
• Turn evaluation evidence from Data Scientists into engineering improvements and regression checks.
• Engineer context integrations that enable agents to use governed data and application capabilities accurately.
• Define reusable AI engineering patterns and components for adoption by other developers.
• Drive architecture decisions and make trade-offs across reliability, quality, risk, and cost.

Requirements

• Strong production engineering experience with Python and SQL, including testing, CI/CD, and operating cloud systems.
• Hands-on experience building and operating AI applications with foundation models, agents, tools, and context.
• Experience instrumenting and evaluating non-deterministic systems, including observability, evaluations, and regression testing.
• Sound architectural judgment across reliability, security, and cost, with the ability to form and defend technical opinions.
• Experience building components or tooling adopted by other developers.
• Working knowledge of Snowflake and its AI capabilities, including Cortex, or the ability to learn them quickly.
• Builder mindset with ownership of shipped work, rapid experimentation, and daily critical use of AI-assisted development tools.

Nice to have

• Experience with AI services on Azure, AWS, or GCP, or with developer platforms that accelerate AI adoption across teams.
