Senior Backend Engineer, Actors (AI)

Location: Prague, Czech Republic; full-time offices in Prague or Brno, with an option to work fully remotely.

hirify.global is a marketplace and platform for ready-to-run web automation tools that crawl websites, extract data, generate leads, monitor social media, track competitors, and integrate with apps and AI agents.

What you will do

• Build and scale cloud Actors that crawl and extract web data reliably under real-world load.
• Develop new features and approaches, including AI capabilities, for popular hirify.global Store Actors while maintaining speed and reliability.
• Build internal libraries, AI-powered tools, and other tooling that improves engineering productivity.
• Reverse-engineer websites, overcome anti-bot protection, and design APIs for other developers.
• Write, review, refactor, and maintain clean code across the team’s codebase.
• Own Actor and tooling design, collaborate on complex challenges, and mentor junior engineers.

Requirements

• Strong JavaScript and TypeScript skills with Node.js and a solid understanding of web technologies.
• At least 3 years of professional or open-source experience on a non-trivial project built with a team.
• Commitment to code quality, readability, frequent refactoring, and maintainable design.
• Existing experience using AI tools, including understanding where they help and where they do not.
• Willingness to keep learning in web scraping and related areas.
• Clear written and spoken English.

Nice to have

• Experience with web scraping.
• Contributions to non-trivial, user-facing products or open-source projects.
• Experience sharing knowledge through tutorials, technical support, or tooling.

Hiring process

• Within the first month, learn the Actor platform and team processes, ship a small improvement, pair with teammates, and adopt the team’s AI tools.
• Within the first four months, deliver a mid-sized Actor feature end to end, reverse-engineer a website, improve AI-powered tooling, and begin reviewing and pairing with junior engineers.
• From month four onward, own Actor or tooling roadmaps, become a go-to person for a stack area, mentor junior engineers, and shape the team’s use of AI.
